Overcoming Fear For a Blissful & Purposeful Life

Welcome to Reconnect.

How does fear affect your life … Positively or Negatively?

Fear plays a vital role in life. If positively … it inspires us and motivates us to progress in life, makes us progressive, growth-oriented, success centric. However if negative it makes life disasters, it creates a barrier in our progress which stands tall and looks herculean to overcome, however small it may be!

Think for a moment  How you think, feel, act &  behalf at your best! Think about the energy flow both inside and outside, think about the communication flow, and think about the positivity running in your mind! Now think about what about you like when you are at your worst, engulfed by fear, anxiousness!

These two are radically different as if your state of being is polarized north and south. While inspired by positive fear, you are aware of your responsibilities, priorities and you are deeply connected with your true self and connected with others, You are inclusive. However, in the state of negative fear, you are rigid in your approach, reactive in your language, defensive and either in a fight or flee mode. According to Neuroscience, the brain considers both the physical threat and the mental threat equally & instantly creates a defensive mechanism moving you away from the perceived threat and keep you in an away state. Your brain senses some threat & you are away from your team though physically together.

Fear Impacts negatively in our personal, professional life both. It impacts negatively our productivity and effectiveness since it impacts directly our power of choice and control. According to Neuroscience, when we are controlled by fear, we feel anxious and overwhelmed. When fear intrudes, our Amygdala and lower part of the brain takes over and we can not think straight. However when we are in our natural state without fear, our Pre-frontal cortex runs the show & it supports & enables us to be creative, innovative and helps us in making an informed choice.

Fear narrows down our efficiency, our effectiveness and it contracts us, It squeezes our thought process and our flow of imagination seized.

The no.1 issues for most of the organizations today, is Employee Engagement & Organizations pay lots of tax in the form of inefficiency and loss of productivity. It impacts the flow of Communication, open and transparent communication a daydream. In-state of fear our behavior changes and fleeing, hiding, freezing like activities surface out influencing our intent or motive directly. When we work with hidden agenda our communication is closed and twisted. Our communication matters most, everywhere in the organization, in society, and in family alike. Our communication impacts life directly, and of course, it impacts our performance, decision making, and trustworthiness. At the individual level, at the team level and at the organization level impact badly in the market place and in society. It is vital in the organizational environment. It plays the same role in our personal and family life as well. It impacts our relationship at all levels.

Can we afford another broken relationship over to our already stressful situation??

How to Overcome Fear?

Fear is an Emotion induced by perceived danger or threat, which causes physiological changes and ultimately behavioral changes, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events, In brief,  it is a emotional state and it is always under the control of our own selves with due care and under guidance.

When we are in our own natural state, we have the capacity to control our thinking, feeling, and acting. Its a matter of  practice and matter of taking responsibility and ownership.

In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna mentioned the importance of taking responsibility for your own growth and prescribed to be friendly with your own mind. Mind when controlled helps us to become our true selves and work as a great instrument in overcoming any challenges coming on our way. We do not have much control on the external force or event in the form of external stimuli, but we have the control on how to respond to those particular stimuli. As Victor Frankl quotes ” Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” When our mind is under control, our senses play in harmony with us and we create a cadence of accountability together with senses, mind, intelligence, and our true self. Energy Flow from all direction , we get a new lease of life and we get deep spiritual, emotional and mental strength to support our physical strength and we can overcome any internal challenge,& a shield is created that protect us from any difficult situation. We get back our true strength and we see our fear is gone . So what is the key… Taking responsibility for our own progress and be friendly with the mind and control it with practice. Practice and practice with discipline, determination, and detachment is the key. The detachment for our obsession's and obsessive desire is the foundation for an emotional stability that creates a platform for a blissful and successful living.

Emotional Stability is the positive outcome of self-awareness. When you are aware of yourself, especially understanding Who you are? Your purpose of life, your mission, and your value get priorities and you start to distinguish what is important and what is non-important. You become aware of who is stealing your life & energy. Everything will be counted and you start getting connected with your true self, start getting connected with your own mission, purpose & objective of life and later with others around.

Find out the root, where you are hooked ?

The root of all fears is our unwanted desires which lead us to obsessive  attachment. Our attachment to our possessions, our positions, our power plays a vital role that plants seed of fear in our brain and later germinate to a seedling and later to a plant that stays with us in a virtual form. When we are attached, we are in the state of fear of losing out leading us to anxiousness, and later to frustration & anger, our anger leads to loss of memory and loss of intelligence & eventually we miss our real identity and our connection with our deep core get lost. A very sorry state!

When we are our own state, deeply connected, emotionally stable, we truly understand ourselves and understand when to invest our vital energy and where not to. With this informed state, we understand the situation in reality and resist our mind to flicker around. We stay fixed, stay focused on our goal & purpose of life united with body, mind, heart & soul congruent with our thinking, feeling, and acting.. a true inside -out approach.

So to summarize, it start from you!  It starts with your responsibility for yourself.

Can we take the responsibility of creating a ” Culture of Minimize Fear”  for ourselves and at least for our own family? If do we see a great new world and definitely a better place to live . A Big Better life awaits for us. Just a matter of taking commitment for our own progress, taking responsibility, and being accountable for our own progress and betterment. I Promise to myself I am different and I create a better individual and better family.
